dried flowers
Dried flowers give you the best of both worlds. Fresh flowers may be beautiful but they do not last long. Fresh flower wither and die, some within days, some within weeks.
Artificial flowers may last forever but they are fake. They may look realistic, or perfect, but they are made of plastic, or fabric.
Dried flowers are real. They last for months. They do not need much care unlike potted plants. And you can make really cool home crafts with them. Limited by just your imagination.
I used to make dried flower arrangements in glass jars. With florists foam, pebbles and dried flowers and some glue that sticks to glass and porous materials.
- Stick the foam to the bottom of the inside of the jar.
- Pour the tiny pebbles between the florist foam and the glass to hide the foam.
- Arrange the dried flowers to look like a garden, with pretty pebbles strategically placed to simulate a miniature rock garden.
When you get rather good at this, you could use a pair of long tweezers and make a rock garden in a bottle. You have to cut the foam into smaller pieces to get into the bottle though.
